Malabo, 11 July 2025: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Court/AfCHPR), the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR), and the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) have renewed their Staff Exchange Framework, aimed at strengthening cooperation and reinforcing coordination among their institutions.
The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 7th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and Regional Mechanisms, taking place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea from 10 to 13 July 2025.
The agreement was signed by Hon. Justice Modibo Sacko, President of the African Court, H.E. Rémy Ngoy Lumbu, Chairperson of the African Commission and Hon. Wilson Almeida Adão, Chairperson of the African Committee.
They were accompanied by their respective deputies, Hon. Justice Bensaoula Chafika, Vice-President (Court) Hon. Janet Ramatoulie Sallah-Njie, Vice Chairperson (Commission) and Hon. Aver Gavar, Vice Chairperson (Committee) as well as staff from the Registry and Secretariats of the three institutions.
The renewed framework paves the way for continued staff exchange among the three institutions, boosting expertise, promoting knowledge exchange and reinforcing synergy in the collective pursuit of their respective mandates across Africa.
The framework was first signed in July 2022 in Lusaka, Zambia for a period of three years and has now been renewed for another three years.
