Lady Justice Imani Daud Aboud is a national of Tanzania. She was elected as Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights in July 2018. She holds Master of Laws (Malta) and Bachelor of Laws (University of Dar es Salaam).
She was re-elected for a second and final term of six years at the 34th African Union Heads of State and Government ordinary summit in February 2021.
Justice Aboud is Judge of the High Court of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. She has held several key positions, including the post of the Assistant Director in the President’s Office (Public Service Management) and the State Attorney. She has represented the Government in various international human rights conferences, seminars and workshops. She was also involved in making periodic reports on Human Rights to UN and other monitoring bodies such as the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

المجلس الاستشاري لمجموعة تنمية الجنوب الأفريقي (SADC) مجموعة مواطنين من أجل العدالة (CFJ) ومقره في ملاوي ؛ وعضو فريق الرصد المكلف من قبل آلية الأمم المتحدة للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية (MICT) ، أروشا ، تنزانيا ، بشأن قضايا الإبادة الجماعية في رواندا عام 1994.
شغلت القاضية عبود أيضًا منصب نائب رئيس لجنة المستقلة لمراجعة نتائج الانتخابات في كينيا المعروفة بلجنة كريجلر. كانت هذه اللجنة قد تم تكوينها لتسهيل عمل هيئة الحكماء بقيادة الراحل كوفي عنان ، الأمين العام السابق للأمم المتحدة. حيث أسندت إليها مسؤولية مراجعة نتائج الانتخابات التي جرت في كينيا عام 2007 .
شاركت القاضية عبود بصفة خبير في العديد من اللجان والمؤسسات القضائية المحلية المعنية بحقوق الإنسان.
