Arusha, 26 May 2026: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will convene its 81st Ordinary Session from 1-26 June 2026 in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.
The Court will consider applications pending before it and hold deliberations on other related judicial matters.
The Court will continue to plan and implement activities marking its 20th Anniversary, through a year-long series of initiatives being held across the continent as a way of highlighting its achievements, challenges and contribution to the protection of human and peoples’ rights over the past two decades.
On Friday 5 June 2026, the Court will deliver four (4) decisions adopted during its 80th Ordinary Session.
Decisions will be delivered in the following cases:
- Application No. 010/2019 Idd Kiture v. United Republic of Tanzania
- Consolidated Applications No 039/2019, 040/2019 and 041/2019 – Chacha Jeremiah and Others v. United Republic of Tanzania
- Application No. 042/2019 Masudi Said Selemani v. United Republic of Tanzania
- Application No. 056/2019, Godfrey Gabinus alias Ndimba and 2 Others v. United Republic of Tanzania
