Arusha, 24 March 2021: The European Court of Human Rights will tomorrow, 25 March 2021, in Strasbourg, France, host the Second International Human Rights Forum, bringing together three Regional Human Rights Courts–The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
The biennial Forum, which held its maiden session in Kampala, Uganda in 2019, is aimed at enhancing judicial collaboration in the areas of human rights among these regional courts.
According to the President of the African Court, Hon Justice Sylvain Oré, it is important for the Courts to share their experiences on a wide range of issues since human rights are universal.
The one-day Forum will discuss on the current important judicial issues and jurisprudential cross-fertilisation among the three Courts, among others.

- The historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 29 October 2019 by Justice Sylvain Oré, President of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Angelika Nussberger, Vice President of the European Court of Human Rights, and Eduardo Mac-Gregor Poisot, President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
