The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights to convene its 82nd Ordinary Session from  31 August – 25 September 2026

Arusha, 24 August 2026: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will convene its 82^nd Ordinary Session from 31 August – 25 September 2026 in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.

The Court will consider applications pending before it and hold deliberations on other related judicial matters.

The Court will continue to plan and implement activities marking its 20^th Anniversary, through a year-long series of initiatives being held across the continent as a way of highlighting its achievements, challenges and contribution to the protection of human and peoples’ rights over the past two decades.

On Thursday 24 September 2026, the Court will deliver six (6) decisions.

Decisions will be delivered in the following cases:

1. Application No. 027/2019 – Goore Bi Youzan Jean v. Republic of Côte d’Ivoire
2. Consolidated Applications No 028/2019, 030/2019, 031/2019, 033/2019, 047/2019, 051/2019 and 053/2019 – Fea Charles and Others v. Republic of Côte d’Ivoire
3. Application No. 031/2020 – Ibrahim Touré v. Republic of Mali
4. Application No. 014/2021 – Souleymane Camara v. Republic of Mali
5. Application No. 003/2022 – Mohamed Al Bousifi v. Republic of Niger
6. Application No. 004/2022 – Kambeyo Ka Kaunda & Another v. Republic of Malawi
