The African Court pays tribute to workers across the continent and acknowledges their vital role in building just, resilient and inclusive societies.
Work is not only a means of livelihood, but a foundation of human dignity and progress.
As we commemorate 2026 International Workers’ Day, while marking 20 years of the Court’s service in protecting human and peoples’ rights in Africa, we reaffirm that workers’ rights are human rights.
To the dedicated Judges and staff of the Court, to our valued partners and stakeholders, and to all workers whose daily efforts sustain our institutions and societies, I extend deep appreciation.
Let us continue working together for a future where the dignity of every worker is respected and upheld.
