Ms. Ishebabi, who hails from Tanzania, had been a staff member of the Court since October 2008. Her
passing is a great loss to the Court and the African Union as a whole, and she will be greatly missed.
Speaking at the opening of the Session, the President of the Court, Hon. Justice Sylvain Ore said of the late colleague that “Given her position, she was the voice and window of the Court… I want to express my gratitude to her contribution in the development of our institution… I would also like to say how we will miss her. It is hard to imagine what life will be like here [in Arusha] without her, as she was so much part of our daily life. We pay tribute to her, a tribute that we will have the opportunity to express in a Condolence Book that will be opened throughout the session”.
Prior to the start of the session, the Registrar of the Court, Dr. Robert Eno, accompanied by senior management staff, led the signing of the Condolence book.
