{"id":579,"date":"2014-12-18T20:47:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-18T17:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.african-court.org\/wpafc\/?p=579"},"modified":"2020-11-23T22:26:44","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T19:26:44","slug":"justice-ramadhani-conferred-with-union-medal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.african-court.org\/afchpr\/justice-ramadhani-conferred-with-union-medal\/","title":{"rendered":"JUSTICE RAMADHANI CONFERRED WITH UNION MEDAL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights, Arusha, Tanzania December 18, 2014<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The President of the African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights (AfCHPR) Honourable Justice Augustino Ramadhani has been awarded Tanzania\u2019s \u2018\u2019Order of the Union\u2019\u2019 Medal for distinguished service to his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The medal was awarded by Tanzania\u2019s President H.E Jakaya Kikwete during Tanzania Mainland\u2019s 53rd Independence Anniversary celebrations at the State House in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justice Ramadhani was among selected Tanzanians to receive the award; one of the highest recognition for outstanding achievement and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to being appointed Judge of the African Court in 2010, Justice Ramadhani was a Justice of Appeal of the United Republic of Tanzania from 1989 to 2010, and in his last three years on the bench, served as Chief Justice of Tanzania. Justice Ramadhani was also the Chief Justice of Zanzibar from 1980 to 1989.
