Arusha, 04 March 2026<\/em><\/strong>:<\/strong> The African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights (AfCHPR) will on Friday, 6 March 2026<\/strong> deliver six (6) decisions adopted during its 78th<\/sup> and 79th<\/sup> Ordinary Sessions, at the Seat of the Court in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delivery of decisions will start from 10:00AM, as the Court begins deliberations for its 80th<\/sup> Ordinary Session of the Court, which is being held from 2-27 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. The African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights (AfCHPR) is a continental court established by African Union Member States to ensure the protection of human and peoples’ rights in Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. The Court is composed of eleven Judges, nationals of Member States of the African Union elected in their individual capacity. The Court meets four times a year in Ordinary Sessions and may hold Extra-Ordinary Sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. The Court\u2019s mandate includes hearing cases and disputes concerning the interpretation and application of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, as well as any other human rights instrument ratified by the concerned States.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
