Arusha, 2 de Junho de 2025<\/em><\/strong>:<\/strong> O Tribunal Africano dos Direitos do Homem e dos Povos (o Tribunal\/TADHP) elegeu o Venerando Juiz Modibo Sacko, do Mali, como seu Presidente, e a Veneranda Ju\u00edza Bensaoula Chafika, da Arg\u00e9lia, como Vice-Presidente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A elei\u00e7\u00e3o teve lugar hoje, durante o primeiro dia da 77\u00aa<\/sup> Sess\u00e3o Ordin\u00e1ria do Tribunal, que est\u00e1 a decorrer na sua sede em Arusha, na Rep\u00fablica Unida da Tanz\u00e2nia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O Venerando Juiz Sacko sucede a Veneranda Ju\u00edza Imani Daud Aboud, cujo mandato como Presidente chegou ao fim ap\u00f3s quatro anos no comando da institui\u00e7\u00e3o, de 2021 a 2025. Ele ocupou a Vice-Presid\u00eancia nos dois anos finais do mandato da Presidente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Veneranda Ju\u00edza Bensaoula Chafika substitui o Venerando Juiz Sacko, que assumiu agora a Presid\u00eancia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nova Mesa cumprir\u00e1 um mandato de dois anos, de 2025 a 2027, em conformidade com o artigo 21.\u00ba do Protocolo \u00e0 Carta Africana dos Direitos do Homem e dos Povos, que institui o Tribunal Africano dos Direitos do Homem e dos Povos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
