Arusha, September 1, 2023:<\/em><\/strong> The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights is set to convene its 70th Ordinary Session, scheduled to run from September 4th to September 29th, 2023, at its Seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 5th, 2023, the Court will deliver judgements on fifteen (15) cases, commencing at 10:00 am East African Time. The delivery of decisions will be accessible via live streaming in both English and French on the following link:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session the Court will consider eleven (11) Applications and deal with other administrative matters. The Court will also receive a delegation from the West African Economic and Monetary Union Court, a Sub-regional Court based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, for a two-day working visit aimed at sharing best practices and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 8 September 2023, the Court will have an Exchange with Minority Rights Group, on current trends, practices, and jurisprudence on the protection of the rights of minorities and indigenous populations and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023 Library Week of the Court will be held between 11 and 15 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Court is composed of eleven Judges, nationals of Member States of the African Union elected in their individual capacity. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The Court meets four times a year in Ordinary Sessions and may hold Extra-Ordinary Sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
