The 17th Ordinary Session of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights has been opened today 31st of May and will continue up to the 11th of June 2010.  

Venue : Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Conference Centre, Arusha, Tanzania

I.        OPENING OF THE SESSION AND WORK PROGRAMME

 1.   Opening of the Session

2.   Adoption of the Agenda and Work Programme

  II.           ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

1.      Approval of the Minutes of the 16th Session.

2.      Report on the 3rd Joint Meeting between the Court and the

Commission on the harmonization of their Rules of Procedure  (Arusha, 27-29 April 2010).

3.      Preparation of the 18th Ordinary Session of the Court in Accra (13-

24 September 2010): exchange of views on the agenda, invitees, etc.

4.      Recruitment of a French Translator / Interpreter and an ICTSpecialist.

 5.      Revision of the Rule of Procedure of the Court  -  Preparation of

instructions for the Court practices   -  Preparation of instructions for the Registry.

6.      Organizational Chart of the Registry.

7.      Status of Judges and new structure of the Registry
