Sensitization visit to Nigeria:

The first day of the visit will be dedicated to courtesy calls on senior government officials, including the President of the Republic, the Minister of Justice and Foreign Affairs, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of Senate. The aim of the courtesy calls is to encourage the government of Nigeria to take steps to make the declaration required under Article 34 (6).

The second day of the visit will be dedicated to a half day seminar for civil society organizations in Nigeria, to explain to them the functioning of the Court, including access to and litigation before the Court. This seminar is organized by the African Court in collaboration with the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian Bar Association.

On the third day, the delegation of the Court will visit the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice and pay courtesy calls on the Nigerian Bar Association and the Nigerian Human Rights Commission.
